The Main Street car show will go on. Bryan McGill of Capital Classic Productions said there are 100 cars coming back for the Main Street Show & Shine car show on Aug. 20-21 in Minden.

"It's a go," said McGill. "We're going to do everything in our power to make this happen."

Carson City residents Bryan and wife Nancy McGill took over producing the annual event after organizer Mike Schiller was injured in a car accident. The McGills have done five car shows in Carson City and Sparks so far this year, and usually stage about 10 cars shows a year.

"We've been doing car shows as a business for about three years, and involved with car shows for about 15," said Bryan McGill. "It's not just a business, it's meeting people, knowing people.

"I'm here for the community. It's a partnership. Bringing money to the community is our goal."

McGill said he already has the trophies made and food vendors lined up, but vendors of car-related items are needed for the Main Street Event.

Sign-ups are scheduled for 3-5 p.m. Aug. 20 at the Holiday Inn Express in Minden, then the party will move to downtown Minden for dinner, music and the show and shine in Minden Park.

Cost of the two-day event including dinner and breakfast is $60 per person, or $45 for the two-day event and one breakfast.
