WNC offers summer college for kids in Carson

Western Nevada College Carson City offers short classes for children, July 19 to Aug. 6. College for Kids classes offer students the opportunity to explore the artist within, participate in hands-on learning activities, and challenge themselves in a fun and welcoming environment. Cost for each class ranges from $55 to $200, depending on its length and topic.

Classes beginning July 19, include art projects, drawing techniques, art and literature, puppeteering, building computers and basic troubleshooting, scrapbooking, Kobayashi Maru (decision making, debate and the world of dilemmas), wilderness survival, Stars and Stripes (American History, debates and patriotic art projects), and hands-on Earth science.

Classes starting July 26, include building computers and basic troubleshooting, scrapbooking, crafty creations, advanced 4-way chess, and mind and body boot camp.
