PROVO, Utah - The University of Nevada women's basketball team was held to a season-low 41 points as the Pack fell at BYU, 61-41, Saturday afternoon. Nevada also scored 41 in a loss to West Virginia.
With the loss Nevada fell to 6-8 overall while BYU improved to 9-3.
A pair of free throws from Tahnee Robinson with 15:30 left in the first half put Nevada up by five, 9-4, before BYU went on a 16-0 run over four and a half minutes to pull ahead 20-9 with 10:57 remaining.
Kayla Williams' layup brought Nevada to within seven, 20-13, with 7:57 left in the half. BYU used an 11-3 run to closeout the half and go up by 13 at the half, 31-18.
Robinson led Nevada at the half with five points, all from the free throw line, while Shavon Moore and K. Williams each had four points. Robinson and K. Williams each had a team-high four rebounds at the half.
BYU stretched its lead to 23, 48-25, with 13:25 left in the game. The Pack cut the led to 18 on a pair of free throws by Holly Jones with under a minute to play as BYU went on to post the 61-41 win.
Robinson led Nevada with 10 points while K. Williams added nine points and a team-high eight rebounds.
Nevada ended the game shooting 25.0 percent (12-of-48) from the floor while BYU shot 39.6 percent (21-of-35).
Nevada will open WAC play on Wednesday night playing at San Jose State at 7 p.m.
