395 worn thin

If you need to travel south of Carson City, Highway 395 is "the only road in town." I am stating this well-known fact because 395 is, once again, becoming a deteriorating roadway that is getting worse almost daily.

The stretch of 395 from Highway 50 west through Minden and Gardnerville has become worn thin and I'm certain that this fact is no surprise to NDOT. While there is much hoopla"about the eventual completion of 580 from Reno to the Carson bypass, the rest of 395 south of 50 will always be a problem because of ever increasing usage by all types of vehicles and the lack of any other option.

I am hopeful that the road wizards at NDOT will address this important portion of highway before it becomes dangerous as well as in disrepair.
