Gardnerville businesswoman succumbs to cancer

Gardnerville businesswoman JoAnn Orange died of cancer on Monday.

Orange and her husband Bud opened the House of Orange antique store in Gardnerville in the late 1990s. They told The Record-Courier they founded the store in Washington D.C. in 1989. They moved the business to their Kingsbury Home in 1996.

Orange was active in the Douglas County Democratic Party and was honored Saturday night at the party's annual fundraiser.

A memorial service is being planned.
