Efforts appreciated

Police and fire personnel are often recognized for their emergency services, but the power outage this past weekend had me thinking about the unsung personnel who go out in the middle of the night regardless of weather (and it was cold Sunday morning) to work on downed power lines and other causes of outages.

As I snuggled warm and safe in my bed at 2 a.m., I thought of all the folks who were out there, braving the elements to work on restoring power, to keep the roads clear of snow, and so on. When I awoke later in the morning, I also pondered how much we take electricity for granted since there were so many things we couldn't do until power was restored.

So, here's a public "thank you" to let them know that their efforts are known and appreciated.
