Smell the coffee

EDITOR:

I see so many misinformed commentators wringing their hands and lamenting that if Harry Reid loses the Senate race, it will be bad for Nevada. To them I say, slow down, have big gulps of strong, black coffee. Let's look at the facts.

Yes, Harry is the top donkey in the Senate. Every week he reminds us he is the most powerful man in the Senate.

Fine, but was that done for us here in Nevada? Well, he got a $100 million for Louisiana, hundreds of millions for Nebraska, and additionally more millions more went to Massachusetts, Maine, and Connecticut. For what?

It was for their senators' votes for a health care bill that is so bad that not one Democratic leader will even consider converting their plan to it.

It was so bad that not all the Democratic senators would vote for it without those bribes. Well, did Nevada get something? You bet, he gave us the right to pick up a share of the tab for those bribes.

Nevada has among the highest unemployment rates and the highest foreclosure rate in the nation. As to the high-paying jobs Harry discusses, where are they? Quoting from a hit movie, "Show me the money!" He can't show you the money, because Harry simply hasn't delivered, he has been too busy locked behind closed doors making backroom deals. For example, the deal exempting labor unions from paying the extra taxes proposed to be levied on other Americans.

So goodbye Harry, you surely could have done more, but possibly not less. Don't worry though, I am sure Obama will repay you with a plush government post as your reward for pushing the ultra-liberal agenda.
