Golf: Wicker leads Tigers at Wolf Run

The Douglas boys' golf team hung on to a tie for third place in the season standings with a team score of 401 at Wolf Run Golf Club Monday.

The 401 was good enough for fourth place at Monday's tournament, behind Manogue (372), Fallon (392) and Galena (397) and ahead of Carson (445).

Thomas Wicker led the Tigers with a 74.

"He played much better, getting the round in the 70s he needed to get his game on track," Douglas coach Brent Eddy said.

Greg Coleman continued his consistant play with a 75 while Jake Tessmann came up with his best round of the year with an 83.

Erik Edwards shot an 84 and Cody Logan rounded out the team scores with an 85.

"It's great to have all your team finish with 85s and under," Eddy said. "That really puts us in a good position to compete as a team.

"With two tournaments left, we're tied for third in the Sierra League with Galena.

Manogue and Fallon are fighting it out for first place. Next week is a big week for us as we play at Thunder Canyon on Monday and Arrowcreek on Wednesday.
