4-H'ers place in small animal show

The Douglas County 4-H Small Animal Project hosted a 4-H Youth Open Small Animal Show on April 17 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds. More than 250 rabbits, cavy (guinea pigs) and poultry were entered, and an equal amount of people attended. There were youth from Douglas, Carson, Storey, Washoe, Lyon, Pershing and Churchill 4-H cubs and their families.

Youth competed in showmanship and Best of Breed categories, and contests for posters, Chicken Plop Bingo, rabbit hurdle races and animal costume contests. Placing Douglas County 4-H members are Hailey Chappell, Audrey Pierce, Corley Raper, Brooke Miller, Katie Meglen, Nick Miller, Skylar Miller, Sarah Meglen, Kasey Williams, Amelia Ritger, Kelsey Blotter, Shelby Patterson, Annika Hillbrick, Kaya Lehr-Love, Meleeah McKown, and Marshall McKown.
