Nevada's PUC names executive director

The Public Utilities Commission has named Crystal Jackson to fill the newly created position of executive director.

The post was created by the 2009 Legislature in recognition of the growing amount of management duties being carried by commissioners whose primary duties are to review and rule on utility applications.

Jackson, a Gardnerville resident, has been with the PUC since 1996, starting as a legal case manager. She has been commission secretary since 1999. In her new role, she will oversee budgets, administration, human resources and contracts entered into by the PUC.

She officially takes over those duties Oct. 1.
