No correlation

EDITOR:

Reading the article about the opposition to a Walmart coming to Gardnerville, I was somewhat puzzled by the example of the closing of Cooks Pantry.

Cooks Pantry was a lovely store with high end gift items beautifully displayed and a great assortment of baking/cooking merchandise. They even offered gourmet cooking classes.

I see no correlation whatsoever between Cooks Pantry and Walmart. Walmart certainly was not the cause of the demise of Cooks Pantry - unless you are talking about a few frying pans.

The demographics of Gardnerville simply did not support an enterprise of this caliber.
