A memorial service is 2 p.m. Tuesday at Merrill Gardens in Gardnerville for Constance 'Connie' Alpha Russell, 97, who died Oct. 24, 2009, at the South Lyon Medical Center in Yerington.
Born July 10, 1912, in Santa Cruz, Calif., to Charles and Lydia Johnson Woodward, she worked for Bank of America for many years.
Mrs. Russell enjoyed painting, sewing, ceramics and crafts. she lived in Yerington at the Mason Valley residence for the past eight months and was at Merrill Gardens in Gardnerville for six years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, Fremont Otis Neece and Arthur F. Russell; a sister, Edith McComb and a brother, Arthur Woodward.
She is survived by son Charles J. Russell of Oakdale, Calif.; daughters Patricia Schultz of South Lake Tahoe and Carol Perkins of Yerington; grandchildren Sherri Schultz of Antioch, Calif., Mike Schultz of Colorado, Deanne Schultz of Pacheco, Calif., Terri Esry of Central Point, Ore., Lisa Perkins of Beaverton, Ore., Sheila Perkins of Yerington; great grandchildren, Anthony Elias, Lt. Danny Elias, Matthew Elias, Amy Gordon, Michael Schultz, Jr. Sgt. Ron Brossard, Darren Jackson, Jaime Guthry, Sanford Esry, Brandon Esry, Derek Perkins; great-great grandchildren Kaitlyn Elias and Anthony Elias, Jr.
