Football: Nevada to auction catered skyboxes

RENO, Nev. - Starting with a Homecoming skybox catered by celebrity chef Jennifer Bushman, the University of Nevada is auctioning off skyboxes catered by some of the area's best local chefs for each of its remaining home football games on the official website of Wolf Pack Athletics, www.nevadawolfpack.com.

Bushman, the founder of Nothing to It! Culinary Center in Reno and restaurant consultant, will cater a skybox at Mackay Stadium for up to 24 guests for Nevada's Homecoming game with Idaho at 1:05 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24. Non-alcoholic drinks also will be provided, and the package includes six game-day parking passes for the West Stadium Parking Complex.

Bushman is the author of Kitchen Coach: Weeknight Cooking, Kitchen Coach: Weekend Cooking and the new Kitchen Coach: Family Meals (Wiley 2004, 2005 and 2006). She also has been featured on NBC's TODAY show.

Bidding for the skybox catered by Bushman begins at $1,500 and closes at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22.

Upcoming auctions will include a skybox catered by David Holman, executive chef, and Joel Giangalia, general manager of Charlie Palmer Steak Reno, for Nevada's Oct. 31 game with Hawai'i and one catered by Mark Estee, executive chef at Moody's Bistro & Lounge in Truckee, for Nevada's home finale against Fresno State on Nov. 14.

Bidding for all three auctions is available now by going to NevadaWolfPack.com and clicking on the online auctions link.

Funds generated from the auctions will directly benefit University of Nevada student-athletes.
