Report: Thousands lose health coverage in Nevada

LAS VEGAS (AP) - A new report says more than 61,000 residents of Nevada lost health insurance through August this year.

The consumer advocacy group Families USA says the problem is a result of Nevada's worsening unemployment rate.

The rate hit 13.3% in September.

Families USA says most Americans receive group health coverage through their own job or that of a family member. Individual coverage is a lot more expensive.

The same group in a survey months ago said health insurance premiums for families in Nevada were rising nearly three times as fast as earnings.
