The R-C Morning Report

The guys who were yelling across Highway 395 about how they'd extract a man who was locked in his van Thursday evening had definitely done more serious drinking than thinking. Deputies finally called the bar and told them to pull the guys in and close the door, which eliminated the cheering section for Thursday's incident. After asking the man to open his door for about 45 minutes and diverting traffic around downtown Gardnerville, deputies opened the van with half-dozen pops that sounded like firecrackers, and were in pulling the man out of the van. It didn't look like he tried to fight them. He was hustled into the back of a patrol car at about 6:37 p.m. We'll post more about the incident on today's Web site.

Clark County Commissioner and gubernatorial candidate Rory Reid is coming by the office this morning. Not quite sure what will come of it, but whatever it is will be online by the end of the day.

It's going to be sunny today with a high in the 70s. The weather will hold through Saturday, but we'll start seeing something new blow in on Sunday. Winds will pick up to 10-20 mph Sunday afternoon. There's allegedly some precipitation coming in on Monday.
