Soccer: Douglas boys pick up crucial league win

The Douglas High School boys' soccer team is doing its best to get in position for the Northern 4A playoffs.


The Tigers upped their record to 5-4-1 in league play with a 3-2 win at Wooster Wednesday, moving withing a game of fourth-place Fallon.


Wooster got on the board first in the game, with a goal from Raul Gonzalez in the 25th minute, but Douglas answered in the 48th minute on a goal from Brian Randall.


Edgar Arceo gave the Tigers a 2-1 lead in the 56th minute, but Wooster tied it back up four minutes later with a goal from Felipe Silva.


The game-winner came in the 65th minute on a goal from Cole Cline. Douglas' Luke Prinz was credited with the assist.


Douglas' Corbin Zumpft was credited with five saves in net.
