Football: San Francisco's Jones active for first time

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - 49ers receiver Brandon Jones is active for the first time, making his debut for San Francisco's game against St. Louis after he injured his shoulder early in training camp.

Jones, a fifth-year pro in his first season with San Francisco, sustained a small fracture in his right shoulder during training camp Aug. 6. In February, Jones signed a 5-year contract worth $16.5 million with $5.4 million in guaranteed money.

Inactive players for the 49ers included receiver Micheal Spurlock, return specialist Allen Rossum and injured running back Frank Gore.

Quarterback Marc Bulger, nursing a bruised rotator cuff in his shoulder, highlighted the Rams' list of inactives.
