Last Tahoe Rim Trail workday

STATELINE, Nevada - Join the Tahoe Rim Trail Association at our End of Season Workday celebration on the Tahoe Rim Trail, Saturday October 10, from 9AM until 4PM. Volunteering to build trails is a great way to give back to the TRT and to meet other trail enthusiasts. The workday will begin at the Kingsbury South Trailhead off Highway 207 in the Heavenly Stagecoach parking lot in Stateline, NV. Tasks will be available for volunteers of all skill levels and physical ability, from easy to strenuous. After free coffee in the morning, we will build trail out to a new vista of South Lake Tahoe. Volunteers should bring their own lunch. After the workday at 4 pm there will be free pizza. To participate, register on the online events calendar at www.tahoerimtrail.org or call Amanda at 775-298-0239.

We will be working on a rerouted section of trail on Daggett Summit. The reroute will move 3.8 miles of paved road back into the forest. The construction of these 13 miles of new trail will enhance the safety of trail users, improve recreational opportunities, reduce impacts to sensitive resources, and reduce future maintenance requirements.

Volunteers must wear long-sleeved shirts, long pants, boots and work gloves; bring sunscreen, lunch, bug spray and plenty of water. Check the weather reports and bring additional clothing as necessary. The Tahoe Rim Trail Association will provide hard hats, all trail tools and crew leaders.
