Project Santa seeks winter clothing

It's time to clean out your closets and gather good quality, used winter clothing for kids and adults to donate to Project Santa Claus.

The clothes will be sorted by volunteers and will be available to our families on Project Santa Claus handout day.

In 2008, 811 children from 344 families were helped in Douglas County.

The clothing drive for kids and adults runs through Dec. 4.

Clean winter clothes in wearable condition for infants, children, teens and adults, such as sweaters, jackets, coats, sweats, jeans, pants, boots, shoes and winter night wear are being sought.

Clothing collection boxes will be located in Gardnerville at Carson Valley Medical Center, 1107 Hwy 395; UNR Cooperative Extension Office, 1329 Waterloo Lane; R&T Cleaners, 1389 Lampe Drive; Raley's Supermarket Camera Department, 1363 Highway 395; and A-American Self Storage off Southgate Drive and in Minden at M. Scott Properties, 1626 Highway 395 and World Gym at 885 Mahogany Drive.

Anyone with questions should call Marilyn Malkmus at 782-4931.
