EDITOR:
Walmart. They want to serve shoppers with zip codes in south county. Good. There is more than enough open space in the area near Topaz Ranch Estates for them to build. This would be a big advantage for families living in Lyon County (Wellington - Smith Valley). Even though not an issue, Walmart would also serve the small towns in California along Highway 395.
County Commissioner Lynn who was vocal during the last meeting - I believe he is a contractor. I trust this does not cloud his future vote for a box store that is not wanted in the proposed site.
Remember who votes yes. Elections are still held in Douglas County.
