Fortnightly Club donates to arts center

MINDEN, Nev.

Kim Chapman, chairman of the Minden Fortnightly fundraising committee, presents a $1,000 check to Krissie Thornhill of the Carson Valley Arts Council to be applied to the Big George Community Challenge, a one-to-one match up to $25,000 going toward the mortgage of the Copeland Cultural Arts Center. The goal of the arts council is to create a performing arts center and promote cultural events in Carson Valley.
