Frances Darbey Alling

A celebration of life Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday for Zephyr Cove resident Frances Darbey Alling, 94, who died Feb. 20, 2009, at her home.

Born Feb. 4, 1915, in San Francisco, Mrs. Alling was the youngest of six children born to Elmer Darbey and Mary Ellen Driscoll Darbey.

She was a member of the Peggy O'Neil Dancers from the time she was 5 until her marriage to Mark Norman Alling Jr. in 1939.

The couple moved to Lake Tahoe in 1965.

Mrs. Alling was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband and son Mark.

She is survived by her children, Ron (Francie) of Zephyr Cove, and Mary Frances Murphy (Tom Rowland) of Incline Village; six grandchildren, Mark Alling IV (Carolina) of Crested Butte, Colo.; Emily Alling Salaices (Gregg) of Carson City; Garth Alling of Zephyr Cove; Kristen Alling Bruce (Mike) of Sacramento; Christopher Murphy of San Diego; Meghan Murphy Rowan (David) of San Francisco; two former daughters-in-law, Pat Alling Jackson and Kimberly Alling, both of Sacramento; and six great-grandsons: Cole, Marko, Ryan, Sage, Nick and Liam.

The service will be at Our Lady of Tahoe Catholic Church, Elks Point Road.

Internment was private. Donations may be made to your favorite charity or Barton Hospital Foundation, South Lake Tahoe, Calif.
