Carol Ann Concannon Hagberg

A memorial service is 11 a.m. Friday in Apple Valley, Calif., for Douglas County High School graduate Carol Ann Concannon Hagberg, 49, who died March 5, 2009.

Born June 20, 1959, in Apple Valley to Jim and Carolene Concannon of Victorville, Calif., she attended Del Rey School before she and her family moved to Gardnerville in 1967.

She graduated from Douglas County High School in Gardnerville in 1977. She returned to Victor Valley, Calif., in 1987 and was married to Douglas Hagberg of Apple Valley.

Mrs. Hagberg was employed by the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department for 19 years, with assignments in San Bernardino, Hesperia and for the past several years as a custody specialist at the West Valley Detention Center.

The Habgergs were avid Mavericks fans, and were frequently involved with activities at the Gold West Mobile Home Park. She rescued stray dogs and cats and either found homes for them or took them to local animal rescue agencies.

Mrs. Hagberg is preceded in death by her husband and her father.

She is survived by her mother of Carson City; brothers Jim Concannon of Yerington and Andy (Liz) Concannon of Minden; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.

The memorial service will be at Sunset Hills Memorial Park, 24000 Waalew Road, in Apple Valley. A celebration of her life will follow.

Donations may be made to the local animal shelter.
