"Patriotism" was the theme of the Carson Valley Photo Club's July contest and first place went to Pat Stanley for his "My Favorite Uncle" taken on July 4th.
Winning photos are on display at the Douglas County Public Library in Minden.
The theme for the photo club's August contest is "fences." Pictures must be 8-by-10 or 81⁄2-by-11 inches and must have been taken July 15-Aug. 11. Club members only may enter the contest, but new members may join at the next meeting of the photo club Aug. 11.
The club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday each month at the Carson Valley United Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville Lane in Gardnerville. Information, Pat Stanley, napapat7373@charter.net or (775) 790-0440.
