Nevada Motocross Park opens Sunday

The Nevada Motocross Park, a newly completed motocross track in Gardnerville, brings its 2009 Summer1 Series of local, vintage, freestyle and professional races to the region.

The Summer1 series starts Sunday with local races and culminates on Labor Day weekend, Sept. 5 - 7, with a freestyle exhibition and professional race featuring top motocross and XGames riders Mike Mason, Adam Jones, Matt Buyten, Dustin Miller and more.

"Completing the Nevada Motocross Park and providing a safe, fun and controlled riding environment for people of all ages has been a long-time desire and it's amazing to see how it's been embraced by the riding community," said Steve Brown, park developer and local rider. "Our top priority is to continue providing a recreational park for riders, family and friends to come together to support the sport. This park is now the closest for riders in the Reno-Tahoe area and our hopes are to continue to develop the series and grow support on a local and regional level."
