The Douglas County Parks & Recreation Department continues its 13th year of the Family Summer Concert Series with country rock band Rick Hays & American Steel, 6:30-8:30 p.m. July 17, at Minden Park.

Bring a low-backed chair or blanket and relax under the stars at Minden Park. Food will be available to purchase by the Lion's Club.

Rick Hays & America Steel are sponsored by GE Energy and Carson Valley Inn and co-sponsored by Edgewood Tahoe.

The concert series is free thanks sponsors GE Energy, Carson Valley Inn, Town of Minden, Tahoe Creamery, Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course, Dr. James the Dentist, Nevada Johns, Stor-All, Park Place AM/PM, Carson Valley Medical Center and the Carson Valley Arts Council.

The next concert in the park is the Savannah Blue Southern Rock Revue on Aug. 7 followed by Caravanserai on Aug. 28.

Aug. 7 Savannah Blue, A Southern Rock Revue

The six-piece Northern California band pays tribute to the music of Lynard Skynard, the Allman Brothers, the Outlaws, Marshall Tucker Band, Molly Hatchet and 38 Special.

Aug. 28 Caravanserai: The legendary music of Santana

The San Jose-based Santana tribute band re-creates the sounds of Carlos Santana. The six-piece band has been featured in Bay area concerts, festivals, art and wine events for 10 years. Caravanserai has played at Harrah's Reno on the Plaza, Street Vibrations and at Ascuaga's Rib Cook-Off.
