Longtime Minden resident and U.S. Navy veteran Gilbert M. Ferreira, 75, died Jan. 22, 2009 at his home.
Born Sept. 4, 1933 in Salinas, Calif., to Manuel and Mamie Ferreira, he enjoyed building hot rods, roadsters and race cars. He was a past member of the Bay Area Roadster Club while living in San Jose. Mr. Ferreira enjoyed fishing and hunting and spending time with his family and friends.
He was a resident of Minden for 30 years, moving here from San Jose.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a grandson.
He is survived by wife Inge of Minden; daughters Debbie (Jay) Ferreira-Rhodes of Genoa, Tami (Craig) Gamma of San Jose and Robin (Steve) Hill of Carson City; two brothers Lloyd (Mary) Ferreira and Ralph Ferreira, both of Salinas; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley has been entrusted with his final arrangements.
