Recycling program goes to DAWGs

Soroptimist International of Carson Valley wants to get the word out to the community that Douglas Animal Welfare Group helps the community by recycling aluminum cans, ink cartridges, toner, and cell phones in an effort to pay their many expenses for taking care of our community's homeless and abandoned dogs and cats.

Aluminum cans and ink cartridges may be dropped of on behalf of Soroptimist and DAWG at Two Guys from Italy or in the collection container available anytime in the parking lot of the Douglas County Animal Shelter, 921 Pinenut Road, Gardnerville.

A list of what cell phones, ink cartridges and toners accepted for drop off at the animal shelter office, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, is at www.thinkrecycle.com/rebatelistfull.asp Epson ink jet cartridges or any ink jet or laser toner cartridge originally purchased as a "compatible" are not accepted.

Soroptimist International meets on the first Tuesdays of the month at Two Guys from Italy.
