Former Nevada Magazine publisher Rich Moreno is back in town on Saturday to sign his new book, "Nevada Curiosities." Moreno is the author of the "Backyard Traveler" series and was a columnist for the Nevada Appeal. He'll be at the Borders, noon to 2 p.m. to sign copies.
Douglas Animal Welfare Group will be holding an adoption event at the Petco 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, not far from Rich's event. For more information, got to www.dawgrescue.com.
The January high pressure is building in and it doesn't look like it's going away anytime soon. The high today is expected to hit 47. Saturday's high will go to 49 and after that it's mid-50s and sunny for at least a week. It's 17 degrees out now in Minden.
