WNC theater season tickets available

The Western Nevada Musical Theatre Co. is opening sales for its 2009 season tickets for these productions:

"Grand Night for Singing," Broadway revue that includes selections from "Oklahoma!" "The King and I," "The Sound of Music," "Flower Drum Song."

The theater company's last production played to sold-out houses at the Reno Hilton Theater in 1995. This is the first showing in Carson City, presented on Valentine's Day weekend at the Carson City Community Center.

"Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," is based on the Biblical story of young Joseph, sold into slavery by his brothers after his father favored him with a gorgeous colored cloak. Music and dancing features '50s rock to calypso to country western. The show comes to the Carson City Community Center weekends, May 8-17.

Rodgers and Hammerstein's "The King and I" features some of Broadway's most recognized songs, "Shall We Dance," "Hello, Young Lovers," and "Getting To Know You." Winner of multiple Tony and Academy awards, this musical is comes to Carson City Community Center weekends, Nov. 7-22.

Season ticket packages range from $39 to $52 and may be purchased at the Performing Arts Office of Western Nevada College, or at (775)445-4249.
