Valentine's dinner dance Saturday

Carson Valley United Methodist Church hosts a Valentine's Day dinner dance youth fundraiser, 5-9 p.m. Saturday, at the church, 1375 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville. Dinner is chicken Parmesan with pasta, dinner roll, asparagus and beverage. DJ music, entertainment by bell choir and games. Cost, $10 per couple. Grower meeting in Yerington

Silverado Ranch Supply in Yerington hosts a grower meeting, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Feb. 18 and 19 at the Catholic Center, 311 Virginia St., Yerington. The event includes lunch.

Farmers, ranchers and rural property owners will learn about pasture care, weed management, soil fertility, hay production and the Walker River Basin Project. Guest speakers are from the U. S. Department of Agriculture, Nevada Department of Agriculture, University of Nevada Cooperative Extension, Dupont Crop Production and Stukenholtz Laboratories.

This class offers continuing education credits for licensed commercial applicators and Nevada certified pesticide applicators.

Seussical musical

Carson Valley Arts Council and Wild Horse Children's Theater present the "Seussical Jr." musical, 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Feb. 22, at the CVIC Hall, downtown Minden.

"Seussical Jr." is directed by Carol Scott and features characters Dr. Seuss books, "The Cat in the Hat," "Horton Hears a Who," "Green Eggs and Ham" and "How the Grinch Stole Christmas."
