Buster Blue celebrates release of first CD

Buster Blue celebrates the release of their first CD, "This Beard Grows for Freedom," with a party at 8 p.m. Feb. 20 at Studio on 4th, 432 E. Fourth St. in Reno. The all-age party features three bands including Xenophobes. Admission is $5, CDs available for $5.

The members of Buster Blue graduated from Douglas High School from 2000 through 2006. The band is described on their Web site as folk/thrash/Western swing. Buster Blue is Bryan Jones, Andrew Martin, Brendon Lund, Rachael McElhiney, Jason Ricketts, Junior Loughmiller and Jay Escamillo.

"The band plays a laundry list of instruments. We switch up on almost every song," said band member Bryan Jones.

He said some of the instruments they use are a megaphone, chains, accordion, banjo, guitar, bass, tenor sax, baritone sax, trombone, ukulele, piano, drums and percussion instruments including buckets.

Buster Blue will be featured at 8 p.m. Feb. 19 with Dead Air Dave on KTHX radio, 100.1FM. Information at myspace/Busterblue.com
