Medical center offers nutrition program

Staff Reports

Good nutrition is key in the pursuit of good health. Carson Valley Medical Center, in an effort to promote the health of our community, is offering a nutrition program designed to help understand the benefits of eating right. Classes are every other Saturday, Feb. 21 to June 9.

Topics covered include nutrition for a healthy heart, the dangers of belly fat, healthy and delicious meal options, diabetes, meal planning, and carbohydrate counting. For a minimal cost, participants will hear the latest information on good nutrition from registered dietitian Renie Tharp and have the opportunity to ask questions and share personal experiences. Participants are encouraged to bring recent lab results to review.

Cost is $10 per session, or sign up for the entire series for $85. Bring a family member or friend and they pay the discounted rate of $5 per session or $35 for the series.
