The R-C Morning Report

It's snowing in Genoa, adding to the half inch that fell last night. Snow tires or chains are required over Kingsbury Grade and on Highway 50 from Stateline to Mound House. Highway 395 from the Douglas County line to Pleasant Valley is also requiring chains or snow tires. The three routes over the Sierra are requiring chains or four-wheel drive.

Minden is holding a workshop this morning in the CVIC Hall on three agreements needed for the town to provide water to Indian Hills, Carson City through Douglas County. The workshop kicks off at 8 a.m. Under the agenda, board members could approve the agreements.

Monday went from summer in the morning to fall in the afternoon, and back to winter by nightfall. That's OK, because winter's coming back with a vengeance by early Wednesday morning when temperatures drop to single digits, and the freezing fog makes a comeback. The freezer door will stay open through Christmas, so anything white that falls is liable to stick around and turn into icephalt.
