Rescuers respond to family stuck near Spooner

Douglas County rescuers are responding to a Land Rover driver who's stuck 2-3 miles in the back country near Spooner Summit.

The man and his 2-year-old and 5-year-old children are on a U.S. Forest Service Road. He contacted the Sheriff's Office at 12:58 p.m.

Members of the Douglas County Sheriff's Search and Rescue are towing snowmobiles up to rescue the trio. They are meeting at the turnout near Highway 28, near the Tahoe Rim Trail.

Deputies are in contact with the man. He reports everyone is safe and they are just waiting for rescuers to arrive.
