The R-C Morning Report

Douglas County School Board trustees are meeting at 8 a.m. today in the district offices to discuss the State Legislative Commission's Committee survey on governance and oversight of public education under a resolution approved by the Legislature last session. Lawmakers are seeking information on streamlining the state's management of the public education, which presently reports to no fewer than 10 different boards and committees. The meeting is in the district offices on Mono Street in Minden.

Gardnerville's Main Street is hosting a revolving fund kickoff meeting 8 a.m. at Sharkey's. Under the program businesses can obtain loans of $1,500 to $10,000 to make improvements or remodel.

There's a freezing fog advisory up until 9 a.m. I didn't see any on my way into work, but it likes to hang out in Washoe Valley, so watch out. It's supposed to be cloudy today with a high near 39 degrees. The low tonight will drop down to 30. There's a chance of rain in the forecast for Wednesday.
