Local vendors are now able to access Douglas County's purchasing list in an effort to buy locally.
"The intent is to provide our local vendors with a list of many of the items we plan to purchase in the fiscal year 2009-10, which runs to June 30, 2010," County Manager T. Michael Brown said. "In turn, our departments will have the opportunity to purchase from local vendors and seek competitive pricing."
Brown said the list offers descriptions of most items purchased on an annual basis by department and will be updated annually.
Description information includes brand names, model, serial numbers, quantity and contact information for the department purchasing the items.
The site also includes county purchasing policy and procedures.
