Silver Spirit Cheerleading takes first place

The Silver Spirit All-Star Competitive Cheer Club had an impressive showing at a regional competition Rohnert Park, Calif., with each of its three teams bringing home a first place award.


Silver Spirit's senior squad had the highest score out of all 30 teams at the competition and won a spot at the upcoming national finals in either Texas, Ohio and Arizona.


The competitions include three parts: dance, tumbling and stunting.


Silver Spirit's Senior squad (18 years and younger) won the level 2 category.

The Junior squad (14-younger) won the level 3 category and the Mini squad (5-8 years old) won the level 1 category.


The Mini squad includes Ashley Rowe, Belle Davis, Emily Goldberg, Jessie Eddy, Makenna Brown, Miya Connelly, Paige Rhead, Savannah Brown and Brooke Eddy, who also competes with the Junior squad.


The Junior squad includes Hannah Wilson, Torrie Henry, Tierra Henry, Savannah Kelly, Rachel Bennett, Nicole Marguth, Mikayla Knight, Haily Bennett, Emily Kever, Codie Brixie and Baylee Inman, who all compete with the Senior squad as well, and Tenielle Plaut, Shelbie Norrup, Nicole Rowe, Miranda Travis, Mackenzie Brixie, Kylie Rhead, Kylie Coziahr, Kari Coziahr, Isabella Gavin, Faith Connelly, Bailey Todd, Angelina Gavin, Amber Taylor and Alyssa Woodward.


The Senior squad includes Catherine Florence, Cindy McGuire, Hailey Mitchell, Jenni Maloney, Jori Hart, Kaeli Abreu, Lindsay Browder, Megan Gaughan, Trisha Gaughan, Natalie Goldberg, Sarah Bennett, Savannah Miller and Tara Berkich.


In an effort to raise funds for the trip to nationals, the club will be doing Party Light candle sales and a photo package from Little People Portraits.


They've set up a non-profit booster club for sponsorship donations and recently received $1,000 from the Douglas County Active 20/30 Club.


Silver Spirit will be competing at two events this weekend, one on Saturday in San Francisco and one on Sunday in Davis, Calif.
