Chipping for Children golf event Friday at Genoa Lakes

The second annual Chipping for Children fundraising golf event is Friday at Genoa Lakes Golf Club. Proceeds from the event benefit children with cancer.

Chipping for Children green fees of $70 include golf, cart and a buffet lunch following play.

While Genoa Lakes will donate a portion of the green fees, other donations may be made to the Keaton Raphael Memorial, a Northern Nevada foundation that facilitates support services for childhood cancer families by providing financial resources and developing community partnerships.

The event was created by Christy Smith of Genoa in honor of 10-year-old Bailey Johnson, a survivor of neuroblastoma. He has been cancer-free for five years and will be at Chipping for Children playing to help other children and their families.
