Ron Dar's photo, "Out Standing in a Field" was the first-place winner on the theme of "fences" in the Carson Valley Photo Club's contest for August.
Winning photos are on display at the Douglas County Public Library in Minden.
The theme for the photo club's September contest is "yard art." Pictures must be 8-by-10 or 81⁄2-by-11 inches and must have been taken Aug. 15 to Sept. 8.
Club members only may enter the contest, but new members may join at the next meeting of the photo club Sept. 8. The club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday each month at the Carson Valley United Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville Lane in Gardnerville.
