The R-C Morning Report

Nothing like actual rain to increase the forecast chance of precipitation. In this case the National Weather Service says we have a 70 percent chance of rain, but since my patio is sopping wet, I'm betting 100 percent. Showers are supposed to stick around until 11 a.m. when they convert to thunderstorms. At 5 p.m. expect it to revert back to showers, which will be likely through the night. As of 5:33 a.m. the gauge at Fish Springs recorded .17 inches of rain.

Yesterday's little snow storm brought 6 inches of news snow to Mammoth Lakes Ski Area. The Pine Nuts definitely got a nice coating and I'm told Genoa had snow on and off through the day. Nothing stuck in the Valley, but it goes to show how much you can count on the weather around here.

Toler Lane is supposed to reopen in the next day or two. County crews are pouring cement, which appears to be a good sign toward reopening the road. Work also continues on Kingsbury Grade 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Grade is down to one lane while the state conducts utilities work. Work is supposed to wrap up by June 30.
