County commissioners will meet 4:30 p.m. today to discuss the final version of the $121 million budget. I've attached the PDF that's on the county's Web site for those who want a little more information. Total revenues are $79,209 million, 2.3 percent up from last year. Personnel costs are up 2 percent. The budget hearing is in the old Minden courthouse, 1616 Eighth St.
A South Lake Tahoe man faces up to 10 years in prison this morning after he admitted firing a shotgun which resulted in pellets bouncing off a wall and hitting another man during a confrontation in the parking lot of a Stateline casino. Eric Zamudio, 19, is scheduled to be sentenced today in Douglas County District Court.
A cold front is forecast to start heading this direction on Tuesday by the National Weather Service. Winds of 20-30 mph with gusts of up to 45 mph are expected through the day on Tuesday, but it won't get cooler until Wednesday on the other side of the front. There'll be a chance of showers on the other side of the front. Expect today's high to hit 92 with the low a 52 degrees. Tuesday's high will be 86 and then the bottom drops out.
