Weekly update on former Tiger standouts

Shawn Estes, P, Portland Beavers (Padres AAA): Estes is 4-2 on the year with a 3.67 ERA. He has 25 strikeouts and has walked seven batters. Most recently he pitched seven shutout innings with four strikeouts an one walk to earn the win against New Orleans.


Bryan Miller, sr., OF, Troy University: Miller continues to lead the country in doubles with 26 in 49 games played. He was named the Sun Belt Conference player of the week as he extended his hitting streak to 15 games. He batted .667 in four games last week with nine RBIs, six runs scored, three doubles and three home runs.


Chris Honer, jr., P, Point Loma: Honer struck out five and walked two in a 5-3 win against Cal State Los Angeles. He finished the regular season with a 3.95 ERA, 46 strikeouts and a 6-5 record.


Phil Mannelly, fr., IF, Feather River: Feather River wrapped up its Golden Valley Conference championship with a sweep of Lassen. Mannelly was named to the first-team all-conference list as a designated hitter. He wrapped up the regular season with a .442 batting average and five doubles, four triples, a home run and 32 RBIs. He also stole 13 bases.


Cory Eilers, fr., DH, Feather River: Eilers is batting .261 with five RBIs and two stolen bases on the year.


Roman Davis, Rfr., C, Feather River: Davis is batting .235 at the plate and leads the team in fielding percentage at 1.000. He has allowed only one passed ball and has thrown out one runner attempting to steal a base.


Niko Saladis, fr., RF, Feather River: Saladis is batting .304 four doubles, two triples and 24 RBIs on the year. He has stolen 15 bases.


Ryan Laing, fr., 1B, Pratt College (Kansas): Pratt is 9-23 in conference play and 17-33 overall.


Chris Balcom-Miller, fr., P/IF, West Valley College: West Valley finished 24-1 in conference play and 35-8 overall. Miller is batting .214 with five doubles and 23 RBIs.

Kristy Olsen, sr., 3B/OF, Iowa State: The Cyclones will be facing Baylor in the first round of the Big 12 Conference tournament after splitting a two-game series with Kansas to close out the regular season. Olsen has started 49 games for the Cyclones and is batting .212 with 11 stolen bases.


Brittany Puzey, jr., OF, Nevada: Puzey was one of nine Wolf Pack players named to the All-WAC team as she earned first-team honors in the outfield for the second-straight season. Puzey is batting .279 with 13 doubles, five home runs and 23 RBIs to go with 12 stolen bases. Nevada claimed its first WAC championship over the weekend.


Kayla Dunn, jr., P/IF, Utah State: Dunn was given first-team All-WAC honors as a designated player and is second on the team in batting average at .359 with eight doubles, five home runs and 20 RBIs.

Ryan Bertucci, soph., Chico State: Bertucci took third in the high jump at the conference championships with a leap of 6-8. Chico won the men's conference title by nearly 100 points over runner-up San Diego.
