Robert Bruce

Henning

1920-2008

Robert Bruce Henning, 88, is dead. Born in Willows, Calif., he is survived by his wife of 62 years, Eunice and daughters Karen and Deborah. He is preceded in death by daughter Barbara, who died in 1999.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Walton's Douglas County Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements.

Raleigh 'J.J.'

J. Jordan

1913-2008

Raleigh "J.J." J. Jordan died March 21, 2008, at Evergreen Health Center in Gardnerville. He was 94.

Born Sept. 6, 1913, in Picher, Okla., Mr. Jordan grew up in Oklahoma and spent his early years working in the Kansas City area. During World War II, he served in the Merchant Marines, traveling the South Pacific. After the war he worked in California's central valley.

Mr. Jordan settled down in Carson Valley and retired after 24 years working as a bellman at the High Sierra Casino in Stateline.

He will be remembered as fun-loving and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors.

Mr. Jordan was preceded in death by his parents and three sons.

He is survived by his daughter and many grandchildren.

No services will be held at his request. Cremation and arrangements are entrusted to Capitol City Cremation and burial. He will be buried in the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.

Donald L. Youngman

1940-2008

A celebration of life memorial for Donald L. Youngman, 67, is 1 p.m. Saturday at the Topaz Ranch Estates Community Building on Carter Way. Mr. Youngman, a five-year resident of Gardnerville, died Feb. 10, 2008.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki; daughters, Wendy Gardner and Debra Quintanilla; and his five grandchildren, Jessica, Brian, Mitchell, Kyla and Tori, who knew him as "Buddy."

Family members said he was unforgettable and his fun-loving nature and enjoyment of life will be missed.

Donations in his name may be made to the Family Support Council in Gardnerville or the Topaz Lake Volunteer Fire Department.
