The R-C Morning Report

Highway 395 at Holbrook Junction was closed for a non-injury accident that occurred at 5:19 a.m., according to the Nevada Highway Patrol Web site. It looks like the accident may have been cleared by now, but be careful driving through the intersection.

Winter must officially be over because roadwork begins March 29 on Highway 395 between Buckeye Road and Highway 88. Utility work will reduce the highway down to one lane from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. that day.

There's a slight chance we'll get some showers today after 5 p.m. It will also be a bit breezy, which is too bad because Tuesday was such a nice day. Spring begins on Thursday and the weather doesn't look too bad for the rest of the week.

Budget hearings continue at 2 p.m. today at the county courthouse, 1616 Eighth St. The sessions are supposed to last four hours, but I know better. This will be Dan Holler's 14th and last budget for Douglas County by my count.
