Commissioners reject business license tax proposal

Douglas County commissioners received applause when they dropkicked a staff proposal to institute a business license and accompanying tax on Thursday.

Before public comment on the proposal that would have charged businesses a flat fee, with an additional amount based on the number of employees, Commissioner Doug Johnson made a motion to reject the tax. Commissioner Dave Brady seconded the motion and it was approved without dissent.
