Tonight is a big celebration for the Douglas County Public Library at the CVIC Hall in Minden that will feature a book signing for local authors and ice cream social. Raffle tickets are being sold to help support library services. The library has taken some big hits in the budget process and this is our chance to support them. The festivities open at 5:30 p.m.

The high temperature to day is only supposed to hit 85 under sunny skies. The breeze will pick up this afternoon, with gusts of up to 25 mph during the day. Expect the weather to get windier through Thursday and Friday.

We're going to see a some more smoke in the Valley from the Indians fire in Monterey County. That fire is burning 35,339 acres on the Los Padres National Forest and is only 35 percent contained. Smoke hanging above Spooner Summit prompted a fire call on Tuesday morning.
