JoJo Townsell named citizen of the year

Retired professional football player JoJo Townsell, 48, was named Carson Valley Active 20-30's citizen of the year during Carson Valley Days on Saturday.

Townsell is actively involved in Douglas County youth sports and founded the MeFiYiorganization, which teaches kids basic football skills while providing them with a positive outlet.Last year, Townsell also founded the Carson Valley Boys & Girls Club, which provides children with a place to go after school where they can engage in constructive activities.
