GOP hosts barbecue for candidates

Douglas County Republican Central Committee is hosting its annual Meet the Republican Candidates and Barbecue July 19. The event will be held at The Corley Ranch, Highway 395, Gardnerville; noon until 4 p.m., barbecue lunch served at 1 p.m.

All Republican candidates running for office, from U. S. President to general improvement district offices, are invited to attend.

Russell's Mercantile of Minden is preparing the lunch. Adult plate includes barbecue chicken and ribs, fruit salad, green salad, baked beans, bread or roll, and cookies at $15 per person.

A child plate for youth 12 years and younger include a hot dog, along with the salads, beans and cookies at $9 per child.

Reservations must be made and paid for by July 11. Reservations received after July 11: adults $20; child $15.
