Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center hosts a demonstration of the multicounty field EKG system, 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, in the second floor reading room in the medical center, 1600 Medical Parkway, Carson City. Continental breakfast will be served.
Carson Tahoe has partnered with the East Fork Fire & Paramedic Districts, Tahoe-Douglas Fire District, Storey County Fire District, Central Lyon County Fire District and CalStar Helicopter emergency service to provide EKG in the field to Northern Nevada.
The program saves time and lives by allowing emergency vehicles to instantly transmit electrocardiograms to the regional medical center.
Travel time in rural Nevada can cause delays so the EKG system saves time when interventional cardiac procedures are necessary.
